How long does a wrap last?

On a daily driver kept outside, plan on 4 to 6 years for a quality cast film. Garage-kept cars and satin or gloss finishes on the higher end of that; chrome, color-shift and textured films are shorter-lived and usually rated 2 to 3 years. Sun exposure is the biggest factor. Horizontal panels like the hood and roof always age first.

Will a wrap damage my paint?

Not when it goes on healthy factory paint and comes off correctly. Vinyl actually shields the paint underneath from rock chips, sun and light scratches. The risk is with resprayed or already-failing paint. If the paint is not bonded well to the panel, removal can lift it. We inspect before we start and tell you straight if a car is a bad candidate.

How long does my car stay at the shop?

From drop-off to handover, most jobs run 1 to 2 weeks including prep, film order and cure time. Bay time itself is shorter: a full wrap is typically 3 to 5 days. Partial wraps, roofs, chrome delete and accents are usually 1 to 2 days. Cars needing heavy disassembly, paint correction or bad-adhesive removal take longer. You get a date range up front and we do not rush a job to hit it.

Do you wrap over bad paint, rust or body damage?

No. Vinyl needs a clean, solid surface to bond to. It will telegraph every chip, dent and rough edge and it will lift early. Dents, peeling clear coat and rust need to be fixed first. We will look at the car and tell you what has to happen before we can wrap it.

How much does a wrap cost?

It depends on the vehicle, the film and how much disassembly the job needs. A coupe in a standard satin is a very different job from a truck in color-shift. Send the year, make, model and the look you want through the quote form and you get a real number, not a range.

Question 6

Why do prices vary so much between shops?

Accepted Answer

Film quality and labor. Cheap quotes usually mean calendered film instead of cast, no disassembly (edges tucked instead of wrapped behind panels), and no warranty. That work looks fine for six months and then lifts at every edge. We quote the job done properly the first time.

Question 7

Do you take a deposit?

Accepted Answer

On most jobs, yes. It holds your dates and covers the film we order specifically for your car. The balance is due when the car is finished. Your invoice shows exactly what was paid and what remains.

Do you offer payment plans?

We are working on financing options for larger jobs. Ask when you request your quote and we will tell you what is currently available.

Question 9

Can I take it through a car wash?

Accepted Answer

Hand wash only. Automatic brush washes will scratch and dull the film and can catch an edge and lift it. Touchless washes are acceptable occasionally, but hand washing with a pH-neutral soap and two buckets is what keeps a wrap looking new.

How soon can I wash it after pickup?

Accepted Answer

Wait a full week. The adhesive is still setting and the edges need time to bond. No pressure washing, no wax, no polish during that window.

Can you wrap just part of the car?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Roofs, hoods, mirrors, chrome delete, accent stripes and racing stripes are all common. Partial work is also a good way to test a color before committing to a full wrap.

Can the wrap be removed later?

Yes, and that is one of the main reasons people choose vinyl over paint. Removal is done with controlled heat so the adhesive releases cleanly. Films left on well past their rated life get brittle and take much longer to remove, which costs more.

Do I need to do anything before dropping the car off?

Bring it clean and empty out anything you need from it. Skip the wax or ceramic coating right before your appointment. Anything slick on the surface has to be stripped before the film will bond, and that is extra labor.

Is my wrap covered by a warranty?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Workmanship is covered by the shop and the film itself carries the manufacturer warranty. The Aftercare page has the full terms and what falls outside them.

Do you wrap commercial vehicles and fleets?

Yes. Vans, trucks, box trucks and multi-vehicle fleets, including printed graphics and lettering. Send the vehicle list and artwork through the quote form.
